SaaS giants ranked by revenue, 2014–2025

Twelve listed SaaS companies raced on annual revenue from 2014 to 2025: Salesforce's climb to $41.5bn, and the younger companies growing fastest since 2020.

  • Salesforce's annual revenue grew from $5.4bn in 2014 to $41.5bn in 2025.
  • It still makes more than Adobe and ServiceNow, the next two largest, combined ($41.5bn against $37.1bn).
  • The fastest growers since 2020 are younger companies: Snowflake (7.9x), Datadog (5.7x) and CrowdStrike (5.5x).

Software-as-a-service has spent a decade turning subscriptions into some of the largest revenue lines in tech. We took the annual revenue that twelve of the biggest listed SaaS companies report to the US Securities and Exchange Commission and raced them, year by year, from 2014 to 2025.

The leaders: scale compounds

Salesforce has been the largest company in the group every year. Its revenue grew almost eightfold, from $5.4bn to $41.5bn, and it still out-earns Adobe ($23.8bn) and ServiceNow ($13.3bn) combined. ServiceNow is the standout among the established names: at $13.3bn, its revenue is nearly 20 times its 2014 level of $0.7bn.

The climbers: growth from a smaller base

Measured against 2020, the fastest growers are the younger companies. Snowflake's revenue is 7.9 times its 2020 level, Datadog's 5.7 times and CrowdStrike's 5.5 times. The two largest companies roughly doubled over the same five years: Salesforce by 2.0 times and Adobe by 1.8 times.

That is the usual shape of a maturing market. Growth rates fall as revenue gets larger, so a chart of growth multiples and a chart of absolute revenue can tell almost opposite stories. Showing both is a good habit in a board deck or investor update.

A bar chart race works whenever you have the same measure for several items over time: revenue by product line, ARR by customer segment, or headcount by team. Put the data in three columns (period, name, value), paste it into the bar chart race maker, and download it as an MP4 or GIF. The link under each chart above opens it with this post's data already loaded.

Sources and method

Annual revenue as reported in each company's 10-K or 20-F filing; where a figure was restated, the latest filing is used. Fiscal years are aligned to the calendar year they mostly cover, so a year ending in January 2026 (which Salesforce, Snowflake, Workday, CrowdStrike, Okta and MongoDB call fiscal 2026) is shown as 2025. Atlassian's year ends in June and is shown by its end year; it reported under IFRS until 2021 and US GAAP after, so its early figures are not perfectly comparable.
